The photographic design of the Seeds Project seeks to portray each seed in the most grandiose and peculiar way possible.
To achieve this, photographer Riccardo Riccio utilized the Focus Stacking technique with an ultra-macro lens. This combination of techniques allowed him to capture in detail the unique peculiarities, colors, and textures present in each seed. Macroscopic photography offers a hypnotic world of extreme close-ups, allowing a dive into the intricate textures of these small objects.
This technique reveals astonishing details, unveiling the hidden wonders of microscopic seeds. Focus Stacking is a technique that photographs the same object from various different focal distances, where each photograph, separated by mere millimeters, meticulously focuses on different aspects of the seed.
Finally, in a digital finishing process, these photos are layered, like slices, forming again a three-dimensional object. Each photo captured in the project is individually crafted to convey the magnitude of a planet or a celestial being floating brightly in the darkness of infinity.
